Counselors play an important role to improve intimacy with the patient and to guide him through his treatment or recovery cycle. The role includes providing medical information to patients to ensure proper treatment compliance at the hospital and at home. Effective listening and verbal communication skills are essential to perform.

Some of the Duties and responsibilities* of a counselor at Vasan Eye Care Hospital
Listen, advise and deliver!
- Establish rapport with patients with excellent communication
- Counsel all patients recommended for surgeries/procedures and helping them understand their options
- Coordination and followup of surgical appointments
- Preparation of surgical lists and coordination with surgeons and OT staff
- Preoperative and Post operative follow ups, care and instructions
- To manage concessions and patients with special financial and physical needs
- Submit counseling reports to Centre heads
